The path starts with a free, no-obligation consultation at the studio. Sit with us, look at real stems, talk through your day. We answer in plain English on price brackets, lead time and seasonality. Typical lead is four to six months for larger weddings, less for elopements and intimate ceremonies. We dress venues across South Wales, the Marches, the Beacons and into Powys.

Family tributes, casket sprays, coffin sprays, single tributes and chapel deliveries. We work directly with funeral directors across Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Raglan and the wider Monmouthshire footprint. Most orders can be ready the same day or the next, depending on timing.

Hannah-Mae, the 2017 RHS Young Florist of the Year and UK World Skills Gold, joined the bench from the competition floor. Three medallists, one bench, in a converted studio on Nantgavenny Lane.

What we are uncommonly good at

Competition florist hands. Brought to the bride's day.

The RHS Chelsea Florist of the Year competition is judged inside the Great Pavilion against the country's top professional florists. Six Chelsea Gold medals running puts Hilary's in the conversation with the very best UK competition florists. That hand transfers directly into wedding work. What the bride sees on her own day was made by judges' medallists, not by general-training florists.

  • Vanda orchid wiring. The studio hero uses purple vanda orchids: structural, water-fragile, individually supported in orchid tubes and wired into the bouquet, not jammed into the binding.
  • King protea handling. The centre-piece bloom in the hero. Prone to neck-flop if conditioned wrong. We hold them on the bench overnight before placement.
  • Painterly grouping. A competition-bench signature. Stems are grouped in colour and form clusters rather than spiralled, then woven through with foliage so the bouquet reads as a painted composition from any angle.

Where exactly is the studio?

Unit 7, Nantgavenny Business Park, Nantgavenny Lane, Mardy, Abergavenny NP7 6LG. About a mile and a half north of the town centre, just off the A465 Heads of the Valleys road. Walk-ins are welcome during studio hours. Wedding consultations are by appointment so we can give you our full attention.
